I Don't Want A Sex Chart, Thank You Very Much

There's a video floating around of an Australian woman talking about the proper time for a husband to ask his wife to have sex with him. She is quite assuming, making charts of the optimal times based on when the last time she had a haircut, how clean the house is and how long the kids have been in bed. In the end she puts all the charts together on one chart revealing the golden window which arises about once a month.

I get it. It's meant to be all in good fun. I just don't find it funny.

The women sharing it may be joking around with their friends about how true it is, but are likely (hopefully) not serious. But what about the young girls that are growing up hearing these types of jokes? Are they going to enter into their marriages with the belief that their husband will be lucky if they're willing to have sex once in a while?

Guys. These things matter. These jokes about never wanting to have sex, or how our husbands are incompetent without us, or how Dads are fumbling idiots. They do matter, They aren't just jokes. They sink into our hearts and minds, and slowly, without us realizing it they become what we actually believe. They become what our kids believe.

End Rant.
